2nd VB Windows 7 screen disappears under Linux host

Post by wagner »

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 with the Cinnamon desktop (version 2.2.13) as a host to VB version 4.3.16
This system has two monitors driven with an Nvidia card (driver version 331.38),
so I like to run with 2 VB screens with Windows 7 as a guest.

After upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 and moving my VB image over from the prevous 13.10
version of Ubuntu, I have been having the 2nd screen disappear from the monitor displays.
I have not seen it disappear, but when I "re-login" via the screen saver is when I notice it
will be missing. It does not have a "minimized" tab available for the 2nd screen after
this occurs either.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have not had this occur in the past with
previous versions of Ubuntu, e.g. 12.04, 13.04, 13.10 etc. on a variety of computers,
including this machine when it was running 13.10 with the cinnamon desktop either.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can "resurrect" the 2nd screen
when it disappears, barring a real solution?

Thanks,

LEW
