Setting up DXO Optics software fails : "this is not a valid Win32 application".
Operating system : Linux Ubuntu 14.0 64 bits hosting virtualized Windows XP SP3 32 bits. IP7 Cpu 8 Go ram.

(DXO Software is a widely used professional protographic tool)

not a 32bit application is the fault of the OS you are trying to install it in. Not something VirtualBox has any control over. It could care less what is in the guest other than the hardware.

from the DXO site…
why did you abandon GPU acceleration for 32-bit systems?

This is a limitation due to memory. In a 32-bit system, there is a maximum 3GB of RAM and as we've added many processes in the processing of DxO Optics Pro 8, the memory gets full and software quickly become unstable and crash more often.
32-bit systems live their last moments, especially in image processing. Our competitors have also abandoned XP.
in other words, they appear to be 64bit only now.
