Not enough information. Explain what these external interface cards are and how they connect.
Re: whether VMs will allow external interface cards plugin
the external interface card is for "Patton 2977/24/PT1 RAS Cards Digi for fax"

Re: whether VMs will allow external interface cards plugin
According to patton they are PCI or internal cards. The answer would be no.
Re: whether VMs will allow external interface cards plugin
so you mean to say no PCI or internal card will be supported by VMs. or is there is any way to implement?
i can see from VM manual.but i am not sure what does it mean?
Essentially this feature allows to directly use physical PCI devices on the host by the guest even
if host doesn’t have drivers for this particular device. Both, regular PCI and some PCI Express
cards, are supported

thanks
so if we have IOMMU hardware and extened VM then whther this patton interface card will support after adding the device through VBoxManage modifyvm "VM name" --pciattach??

Yes. If the processor supports IOMMU, and if the BIOS also supports it and is enabled, and also if the kernel has provision for IOMMU, then you have a shot. *But* not everything works the way it is supposed to. Some things just don't like to operate this way.
