Internet on guest machines is not working

Post by ruckzuck »

Hello,
I am trying to connect to the internet on a linux mint 13 cinnamon guest running on a linux mint 13 mate host. Currently I am using a pppoe internet connection which I activate before opening virtualbox. I can't access the internet however even though the network connection appears to be made on the guest. The internet obviously works on the host machine. I have also set up a win7 vm , with the result being the same so i reckon it's not a problem with the guest OS. Both Vms have as network settings :
attached to : NAT ,
adapter type : intel pro/1000 mt.

How can I gain internet access on vbox guests?
PS: I am using virtualbox 3.6.10

- The VBox version you're referring to does not exist. Where did you get it from?
- What does your 'ifconfig -a' look like from the guest and the host?
- Minimum information needed for assistance.
