VM Crash when starting Ubuntu VM from saved state

Post by ewh »

The following issue ONLY occurs when starting a VM from a saved state. VirtualBox runs this VM flawlessly when starting and shutting down normally and not using the VirtualBox saved state suspend/restore functionality. I experience identical failure behavior using VirtualBox 4.3.8 and 4.3.10.

When attempting to start the VM from saved state, it gets to 97% restoring the VM. I then see the following error message popup:

Code: Select all

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Ubuntu2.
No error info.
Result Code: NS_ERROR_CALL_FAILED (0x800706BE)
Component: ProgressProxy
Interface: IProgress {c20238e4-3221-4d3f-8891-81ce92d9f913}
This behavior appears nearly identical to this behavior seen on OSX hosts: previous forum posting. (The referenced issue was resolved on VB 4.3.4 for OSX.)

I'm extremely new to VB, so please inform me if I need to supply more logs/info.

Thanks!
