I have virtualbox set up to automatically forward my blackberry USB connection, and I can perform some operations via the Blackberry desktop software. However, I cannot update the OS. When it comes time for the device to be restarted into OS loading mode (connect to boot ROM) the phone just goes into a boot loop and that's that. If I disconnect the phone it will restart as normal, nothing has been changed or erased and it is not bricked, just unable to be updated.
Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone been able to successfully update a blackberry using virtualbox? BTW, I am running Win 7 as the guest OS.
