Host performance slow with Windows 8 Guest

Post by hermann1514 »

Hi,
my VirtualBox is running on a Ubuntu 13.04, with 4GB Ram and a Intel Core 2 Dua 3GHz.
When i start my Windows 8 Guest the Host has extremly Performance issues. I cannot start the Browser and so on. After i shut down the VM all works fine.
The configuration for my VM is:
1.5 GB RAM
2 Processor
Display RAM 256MB
3D enabled
VT-x/AMD-V,Nested Paging and PAE/NX are enabled.

I have installed the latest updates for ubuntu.

Is there a soloution for this?

Regards
Hermann

Lets see, you have a dual core CPU, and you are assigning both cores to the guest, leaving nothing for the host. What could possibly go wrong with that? :)

If you want any further help then please provide basic diagnostic info: see Minimum information needed for assistance.

This was a hint from another Board.

This Problem is only in FullScrenMode. When i use the VM in WindowMode then the Performance is ok.
