Ummm. Yes it does. But you seem to have a problem. Get the correct package from the website itself then.

Release candidates do not have full support in VirtualBox because they change often. The basic 3.2 kernel does seem to work but that does not mean the latest and greatest will. VirtualBox will see that it does work sooner or later, but they cannot afford to make these changes on each RC. I know that VirtualBox works with the kernel that is officially supported with mint 12. Boot to that kernel and see if things work as they should. Another issue with using RCs is you must make sure to install the custom headers for your new kernel. There are usually 2 that need to be installed. The *all.deb & * amd64.deb for 64-bit.

Hi, all packages are installed, generic and adm64 for kernel 3.2

The package that try to install obviously is the 64 bits package....

If show the error, the install progress correctly, the problem is on dkms compilation modules....

on changelog of version 4.1.8 say:

Linux hosts/guests: fixes for Linux 3.2 (bug #9743)

Not support for kernel 3.2??

3.2 rc7 release date = December 24th 2011
VBox 4.1.8 release date = December 19th, 2011

3.2 rc1 release date = 08 November 8th 2011 I have tested this and it works. (at least for me)

Like I said there is no way they can give full support to something that did not exist when they released the latest version. It either works or it doesn't.

First lesson if using virtualization: Dont use newest kernels.

VMWARE has the same problems as VBOX. In VBOX its better resolved because of higher update frequency.

If you want or really need this, you have to use KVM (driver is part of the kernel).

Hi, right VMware have the same problem ( on VMware forum find a work around)

The next version will be full compliant with kernel 3.2.

I need run this kernel for my hardware.

Every one know the new release date? Or beta?

Thanks

The answer is easy: When its available.

In this forum you will never find dates for next versions. This was not the first question for this.

In the meantime you can compile VBOX from SVN yourself. Or compile only the VBOX kernel modules. But thats another question, that costs some time to learn howto do this.

Compiling from SVN will not solve this issue I am afraid. As of r39657 (latest build) 3.2-rc7 still does not work with the guest additions. The kernel guys have done some serious changes and the 64-bit guest additions are not getting along with this build. 32-bit seems to work properly though.
