Bug or just me?

Hi!
.
I installed the VB release (4.16) on my ubuntu 10.04LTS box. MD5 hash fine. HOWEVER can't install extpack, because as soon as I click on "FILE->Preferences" the GUI crashes and disappears. This doesn't happen under LinuxMint 11 with latest release (here however Natty release).
.
PS: I was able to install extpack through bash ... but the above problem continues to exist (cant use/change any Preference settings through GUI). Also didn't have this problem with prior release (4.14) on same box.
.
.
Thanks! (for any fix) :?:

Not just you, I'm seeing the same thing. When I launch VirtualBox from the command-line it exits with the message:
Segmentation Fault

I don't see anything useful in the logs.

+1.

After upgrade from 4.1.4 to 4.1.6.
I click "File -> Preferences" then VirtualBox crash and disappear.
If I start VirtualBox from terminal, after click it:

Code: Select all

goldie@host:~$ VirtualBox
?????????
goldie@host:~$
p.s. “?????????” means "Segmentation Fault"
Never seen this error messages before 4.1.4.

Host: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS x86_64 (with up-to-date packages)
Version: VIrtualBox 4.1.6.
Core dump file has posted at #9851

Edit: Added x86_64 at host Ubuntu info.
Edit2: Added Core dump.
