Hello, I was wondering if you could give me any pointers? I am trying to get my Clear 4G dongle to work in an XP virtual machine on an Ubuntu 9.10 host. I have successfully installed the Clear software (I had no problem mounting and using the installation USB dongle), and can open the Clear connection manager in XP. The dongle itself appears under the name "Ubee Interactive Clear 4G Mobile USB - PXU190 [0001]" in the USB connections icon at the bottom of the Virtualbox window. However, when I try to connect the dongle by clicking the box, I get an error message that says:

"Failed to attach the USB device Ubee Interactive Clear 4G Mobile USB - PXU190 [0001] to the virtual machine Windows XP.

Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {6375231a-c17c-464b-92cb-ae9e128d71c3}"

This is the only USB device that I cannot get to work in the XP virtual machine. I am using Virtualbox PUEL 3.2.6, and when the host is connected to my ethernet connection, the guest connects automatically as well. I tried looking for help with this issue but couldn't find anything ... I seem to be on the last step, since I have gotten USB devices to work in VB, can connect to the internet in other ways, and have successfully installed the the Clear connection manager software on XP. All that is left is for VB to successfully attach the dongle (it reads it fine, and can tell what type and make of device is plugged in) and be recognized by the connection management software.

EDIT: I have gotten the light on the dongle to turn on, and VB says the device is attached, but there is no response from within XP itself.

Bump. I have gotten Windows XP to recognize the device ... everything works as it should, only the Clear Connection Manager itself says no device is connected! I know people have gotten Clear to work in an XP host using VB ... does anyone have any pointers? Thanks :-)
