Mapping shared folders

Post by kriko »

I upgraded virtualbox from 1.5.0 to 1.5.2 on 2 different machines, which are running windows XP as guest OS.
Each guest has one limited user account and previously I was able to map a vbox shared folder without admin rights, now I have to login as admin, map a drive, relogin as limited user and remap network share, otherwise I get:

Code: Select all

net use x: \\vboxsvr\desk

System error 67 has occured.
The network name cannot be found.
What can I do? Win XP is original and fully updated, this issue started to happen when I upgraded virtualbox to 1.5.2, including vbox additions.

Use host interface networking together with samba and forget shared folders.

Samba on same Host works with NAT, too.

I have the same Problem with Vista Guests. Samba works without Problems. It always connect and there is no crash when copyiing files.

Via Explorer, connect Network Drives. Or "net use" command.

Thanks, maybe it would be a good idea to start a quick online wiki, downloading and reading whole pdf is a bit frustrating.

I dont know what is better in a wiki.

PDFs are searchable, have a clear Structure.

If no one reads the user dooc, the wiki wont be read too.

Wiki is online, alway updated. No need for downloading and having separate document viewer, all you need is a browser.

Authors are free to write crap, its not so actual if authors havent the time etc.

A good PDF from the Developer is for me always the best.

But this will be religious.
