VirtualBox windows are transparent
For some reason, my virtual machines have transparent windows whenever I run them. I don't know why this is; usually I just reboot the computer and everything is fine. Now that I've upgraded to 3.0.0, they stay like that forever. I rebooted; the windows were transparent. I recompiled the kernel module and rebooted, and the windows were still transparent. How do I get rid of this?

Re: VirtualBox windows are transparent
Try turning off composite in Ubuntu and try it again. If this helps there is a work-a round by using a script to start VBox: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... 823#p84267

Re: VirtualBox windows are transparent
If you are running Compiz do the following:
I had the same problem, here's how I fixed it:
1. Open up ccsm (if you don't have it install it using "sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager")
2. Go to "Window Rules" (and make sure it's enabled)
3. In the "No ARGB Visuals" box put the following without quotes "class=VirtualBox"
4. Hit back, close ccsm, and open up VirtualBox.
It worked like a charm for me, hope it works for you too.
I got this help off the Ubuntu forum yesterday
