Overheating

HP AMD64 Laptop w/2 GB memory
Ubuntu 9.04 amd64 desktop host
Windows XP SP3 guest
This hardware was running 64bit 8.10 w/VirtualBox OSE for 8 months and this same guest image with no problems. Just did a clean install of 9.04 and the latest VirtualBox OSE from the Jaunty repos and it's overheating my laptop causing sigterm.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Anything I should look at in particular?
