Ever since I upgraded to VB 2.2.0, I've found that shared clipboard no longer works. I've re-installed the 2.2.0 guest additions and tried rebooting both the guest and the host, but cannot share from host->guest nor from guest->host.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Host is Ubuntu 8.10-64bit and guest is Debian Etch 4-64bit.

The first time I tried it was from guest (Jaunty) to host Vista and it did not work.
Then I tried it from Vista to Jaunty and it worked. Subsequent tries worked in both directions after that.
Hummmmm.

First time I tried, it crashed my Jaunty VM, then after a new start of the VM, no issue with it.

The clipboard crash is a known issue in VB 2.2.0. See http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/3723.

Clipboard not working correctly on Debian 5 (lenny) guest here as well. It works "sometimes" and from some applications. For example, I can copy and paste (sometimes) from the terminal window, however not from an application like Netbeans.

It works on and off with the emphasis being on the off part.

Running Linux debian 2.6.26-1-486 Guest with Guest Additions 2.2.0.
The host is Windows Vista Business x64.

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 and XP, both right up to date with latest updates.
Using PUEL 2.2.0

Same problem. Cut & Paste works sometimes and then eventually dies out. I get errors like

This application "" has the clipboard locked
the process id is 3508
the thread id is 12332

With Ubuntu 8.10 host w/ VB2.2 (XP guest) I too have various clipboard and keyboard problems. Eventually, clipboard will just stop working. At other times, text entry in KDE on host gets lagged and klipper kind of jams.

I get the same thing. Suddenly in the Windows Guest, I can no longer copy/paste or cut/paste anything....

Now the "VboxSharedClipboardClass" gets stuck and prevents the windows XP guest from shutting down properly.

No, that ticket (which I created) was for a *crash* that would happen when you'd try to cut-and-paste.

i've been having a very similar problem with the bidirectional clipboard eventually failing in VirtualBox xVM since version 2.0.something - hosts Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10, on both 32- and 64-bit Ubuntu, guest in WindowsXP SP3.

in diagnosing it, i find that using *any* MS Office 2007 application triggers the failure - shared clipboard stops working, and when i try to shut Windows down i get a message to the effect that "VBoxSharedClipboardClass has stopped responding", and i need to abort the guest session altogether - it never completes teh shutdown process..

Yup, same here. The shared clipboard has been a problem for ages. Around v1.6 it worked perfectly - with a Ubuntu host and Windows guest I could share items between them no problem at all.

Ever since then it's been intermittent, with the clipboard integration sometimes working, but most often with the host clipboard overwriting the guest one every few seconds. The clipboard on the guest has been almost unusable for some time now.

However, in 2.2, the guest clipboard is now completely unresponsive. I have no clipboard functionality at all, and I'm now hunting for something I can disable so I can render this system usable again.

Just a quick comment - stopping the VirtualBox Guest Additions Service restores clipboard functionality in windows, but restarting that service doesn't re-establish the shared clipboard.
