VirtualBox crashed my Ubuntu

Post by chunchengch »

I installed VirtualBox 1.50 on my external USB HDD running Ubuntu 7.04, it crashed twice when I tried twice to power on a XP guest, while VMware Workstation 6 works normally. why?

The other problems happened in my laptop are:

1. Although guest additions is installed, I can not use either Right Ctrl+F to switch full screen, or Right Ctrl+L to activate seamless.

2. The built-in webcam does not work normally, only a black screen, while VMware Workstation 6 works normally.

3. VirtualBox uses RAM double more than the VMware does.

I like VirtualBox because it is small and fast, but it seems to be much unstable, am I wrong?

No, you are right.
VirtualBox 1.4 has less features but is much more stable.

Strange.
As for the fullscreen mode: there is no guest additions required at all.
As for the seamless mode: what is the guest additions version have been installed?

P.S. May be your Host_Key is not "Right Ctrl"?
