"paused" VM is "aborted" after host suspend/resume

Post by fdvbox »

Hello,

I am using Vbox 2.1.4 on Ubuntu 8.10 (32-bit). When I pause a Vbox virtual machine, then suspend/resume the linux host, the VM state is always changed to "aborted" (i.e. I lose the current session).

Anyone having the same problem?
Any possible solution?

Thanks in advance,

FD.

I am having the exact same problem. I am using Vbox 5.0.10 on Linux Mint17.3 (64bit). When I pause a Vbox virtual machine, then suspend/resume the linux host, the VM state is always changed to "aborted" when I attempt to un-pause it.

Any solution?

Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

Hello, I have a similar problem but I was unsure if to create another topic or post it on the same one. Well, here it is.
I have a Dell Inspiron 14 with Ubuntu 14.04 lts, 64 bits, 5.7 GiB memory, Intel Core i5-4200U CPU @1.60GHz x 4, graphics Intel Haswell Mobile.
I have a W7 virtual machine on the VM (4.3.34) Ubuntu r104062. It was working normally until few weeks ago but now it's on the "Aborted" status. When I turn it on, it gives me the "Safe Mode" in which I can choose the option but whenever I pick whether starting it on safe mode or normal, it fails and shuts down.
I'm attaching the log file. I'm not a computer scientist neither a programmer so I don't understand too much what's happening and I can't understand the log file.
I really need help, please, I would really appreciate it.

@seba_qf,
VirtualBox VM 4.3.34_Ubuntu r104062 linux.amd64 (Nov 23 2015 18:06:43) release log
00:00:00.686234 Package type: LINUX_64BITS_GENERIC (OSE)
00:00:00.721192 VNC (Version: 4.3.34 r104062; VRDE Module: VBoxVNC)
00:00:00.721199 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack (Version: 4.3.10 r93012; VRDE Module: VBoxVRDP)
First you are using the distro repo version of VirtualBox which we do not support here.
Second you have a mismatch in the version of the Oracle Extension Pack and it will give you issues.

My suggestion is to remove their version and install the official version from virtualbox.org and make sure all packages match the same version.
