Weird mouse problem (solved)

Post by marcus701 »

Had a perfectly running system Thanks for the outstanding product :) :)

Running under Feisty 7.04

Upgraded yesterday to version 1.5

Some problems to start my Windows XP guest: the guest additions changed from /opt ... to /usr .. so I set to what I thing should have been the new ISO image. I probably goofed (did not reinstall the Guest additions.

The guest machine started and I could do some work until I tried to use a printer to print a document.

The virtual guest froze (mouse and keyboard) and I could not get back to the host

I had to reboot the computer.

Now whenever I try to start my host the mouse pointer appears but I have no control whatsoever!!! the keyboard works so I can go in terminal mode.

Virtual Box is not active but seemed to retain exclusive control of the mouse.

Booted with another copy of Feisty 7.04 (which does not even have Virtual Box) mouse frozen
Booted with the real Windos XP mouse frozen
Booted with the fedora 7 Live CD mouse frozen

So when you get control of the mouse you mean it :D :D

Please let me kow how I can fix that (from the console) as this is the only way I can interact with my host

Thanks

Marc

Why do these things happen at the same time

A freze followed by a reboot ... and the wireless mouse batteries become dead at the same time
