Shared clipboard doesn't work

Host: Ubuntu intrepid 8.10 amd64
Guest: Windows XP Pro SP3
Virtualbox: 2.1.2 PEL

Basically it works, for a while. Then it cuts out, i can only get it back by restarting the VM again. It's really annoying. I've tried reinstalling guest additions but it didn't help.
