Using host GPU

Post by chameau »

The default max video memory in VirtualBox is 250mb, this is not enough to run graphic dependent applications in the 'Guest' (like a CAD program)
I think I seen something somewhere about GPU Passthrough? Could not find anything about it in the FAQ. Is Passthrough possible? and if so how? Thanks

Assuming you enable 3D acceleration then graphics are rendered on the host. All the guest needs is a buffer, and 256MB is plenty.
