Hello,
the latest version of VB 7 doesn't work with Ubuntu 22.10 (kinetic) (Kubuntu 22.10).
I get error messages of kernel etc.
How can this fixed or doesn't exist a version for Ubuntu 22.10
I want to use the new version
Thank you in advance

A bit more clarity (actually, rather more than a bit, more like exact message text) will help us help you.AxelFoulie wrote:I get error messages of kernel etc.
Also, Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager. In the "Logs" subfolder, zip the VM's "vbox.log", and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Hello,
I'm confused.
After this problem I installed and removed the supported version 6 and installed version 7 again and it seems, it works now
VB doesn't exist in the repository for kinetic

Gotta love those intermittent problems! Glad you're up and running.
I'm confused too. You're posting in Windows Hosts, so Virtualbox would run in Windows, not in Ubuntu, so you wouldn't need to find Virtualbox inside Ubuntu. Unless you were planning to try nested virtualization, which would be too ambitions at this time.AxelFoulie wrote:VB doesn't exist in the repository for kinetic

OK, so you are running a Linux host, good, that clears things up for me.AxelFoulie wrote:I hope that will be moved to Linux section
Linux distros often fork Virtualbox and offer the forks in their repositories. We don't support those forks. We only support Virtualbox downloaded or repositoried from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_DownloadsAxelFoulie wrote:VB doesn't exist in the repository for kinetic
There is no 22.10 link in "Linux Downloads" yet, so you'll need to give the devs a month or two more.

Re: VB 7 does not work with Ubuntu 22.10 (kinetic)
@AxelFoulie had better luck than I. Every guest - prebuilt, clean Windows or Solaris, 32 or 64 bit - grenaded on startup under 7.x+22.10 so I've remained with 22.04.
EDIT: this is not specifically the audio issue claimed in other posts I've seen. I'm running Ubuntu Studio, whose 22.10 release did not include the PipeWire/PulseAudio updates in Ubuntu Desktop 22.10.
UPDATE: 7.0.5 test build seems to work fine under Ubuntu Studio 22.10. Note this release does not yet have the Pipeline audio changes that are in Ubuntu Desktop.
