Guys, would be great if you released 6.1.36 a little bit faster.
Kernel 5.18 has been available for close to a month and 6.1.34 is not compatible with it.
I'm well aware of test builds but many people use your repository, and installing an .sh file could be a challenge for the uninitiated.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Version 6.1.36
Hi,
Can I just add a +1 to this request
Kernel = 5.18.5-arch1-1
VirtualBox = 6.1.34-4 (from arch community repo)
Just installed VirtualBox for the first time and it won't boot, instead provides the error:
Checked out previous solutions, one being Failed to acquire the VirtualBox COM object (new user so won't let me post urls) which was really helpful (and learned about the sticky bit ), but didn't resolve the error
In fact on installation it doesn't create a /tmp/.vbox-*-ipc/ folder and if you manually create one, when you run VirtualBox it removes it.
I'm no developer, but if I can help test/install test build let me know, otherwise good luck with the new version

Just installed VirtualBox for the first time and it won't boot, instead provides the error:
Code: Select all
Failed to acquire the VirtualBox COM object.
The application will now terminate.
The reason for this error are most likely wrong permissions of the IPC daemon socket due to an installation problem. Please check the permissions of '/tmp' and '/tmp/.vbox-*-ipc/'

Re: Version 6.1.36
Just to let you both know, the forum gurus here aren't the devs, so they have no say when the devs release a new even number version.
The test builds can be used to help troubleshoot development.

Re: Version 6.1.36
I am installing test build and I get the message to run vboxconfig
I don't see it in /opt
How to I configure this into the kernel?

Official Virtualbox has prerequisites, see https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02. ... nux-prereq
Also if you have the Linux distro's fork of Virtualbox installed, you'll need to uninstall it to run official, including the test builds.
