Importing VM Into Non-Default Directory

Post by MMallFromKC »

I installed VirtualBox 6.1 onto a VM Host machine running Oracle Linux 8.5. I am trying to import OVA files. I am able to import into the default directory, /home/[User]/VirtualBox VMs, but I don't want the guest OSes to be associated with a particular user. I have set up /opt/VirtualBox VMs as the default directory for guests. However, when I try to import into that directory, I get the following.

Failed to import appliance /home/[User]/restore/backupVM.ova.

Result Code: NS_ERROR_INVALID_ARG (0x80070057)

The ova file came from an exported VM that was running as a guest on a CentOS 7 host machine.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.\

Thanks, Mike
