[Solved] Windows 10 hangs after connecting to VPN via GlobalProtect application.

Post by juri »

I'm trying to use GlobalProtect on Windows 10 Pro machine on Ubuntu and I have a following issue.

Right after putting SSO credentials machine hangs and is unresponsive. I tried many different solutions available in internet forums which were mostly related to changing network adapter configuration but nothing help.

In virtual machine logs I see only this:

Provide a VM log file. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Sorry for the delay, for some reason I didn't receive any notification of your reply.

On today I installed all windows updates since I saw that there was some issue with VPN connections on Windows 10 and they prepared a patch. Unfortunately it seems that it is not my case.

Adding fresh logs from today.

Unfortunately, the provided log is incomplete. Please don't copy log files while the VM is still running.

Give the VM 2 CPU cores. I would increase RAM to 8GB as well.

Enable 3D acceleration.

Install the Guest Additions if you didn't already (I can't tell because that part of the log is missing).

You should also update to VirtualBox 6.1.32 (you are on 6.1.30).

It works thanks ! I tried the same before I installed windows patches so it seems that increasing CPU cores + latest Windows patches were needed.
