Please post a VM vbox.log per the usual methods that shows the access attempts.

On Ubuntu 20.04.3 VM Terminal

$ sudo find ./ -name vbox.log
no printout

$ sudo ls ~/.config/VirtualBox/

Code: Select all

ls: cannot access '/home/satimis/.config/VirtualBox/': No such file or directory
$ ls /tmp/Temp/superuser/Logs/

Code: Select all

ls: cannot access '/tmp/Temp/superuser/Logs/': No such file or directory

Further to my late posting:-

I have solved the problem as follow:

-> Folder
-> click "Other Locations" on the left column
then "sf_Transfer_Folder" popup on the right column
-> click "sf_Transfer_Folder" ( on the right column)
Authentication Required -> login with password

Then I can connect the Transfer Folder and read the files there.

But other Ubuntu VMs (about 10 VMs) are no working in this way, clicking "sf_Transfer_Folder" on the left column then all files will be displayed on the right column. No authentication is required.

Furthermore I discover another strange thing on all VMs. satimisliu@gmail.com network is on the left column. Clicking it popup files on the right column. I have no idea where those files come?

Use the method you used when you found them here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=102641&p=498741#p498741

Glad you got things working, though. There has been some forum chatter that the "sf_" is required now due to some apparent bug. I haven't tested it to know for certain.

We will need a vbox.log for a VM that is having the Virtualbox Shared Folder problem, so we can see if the VSF is set up correctly.

This is a subject for a new topic. And a lot more info needs to be provided: Left column of what? Right column where? Why is your email involved? And a vbox.log for the VM, of course...
