I have moved from Debian 10 to 11. I could copy from the guest and paste in the host before the change, but now this doesn't work.

I had the same problem with Linux Mint 20.2. After updates of the kernel and update to VB 6.1.26_Ubuntu r145957 the clipboard worked again in both directions.

Guest Additions (and prerequisites) are required for shared clipboard. Also, only X clipboard is compatible with Virtualbox Shared Clipboard, Wayland clipboard is not compatible yet.
See https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch04.html and https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02. ... nux-prereq

Sry to reopen this, but the 2 links don't contain any info for wayland clipboard. This was working even in some older v6.x versions of VB. Is there any bug / regression or any official info on this one?

Neither of those links discuss Wayland's clipboard because they're discussing installing Guest Additions.

Once Guest Additions are installed, then shared clipboard will work (may, on Wayland).

Please start a new topic if your Wayland system does not have working shared clipboard, and we'll see what can be done.
