I can't make a virtual machine

Post by InsertNicknameHere »

I am running KDE Neon 5.21, my Virtualbox version is 6.1.22.
I try to start a guest windows 10 machine, but get this erroe:
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows 10.

The virtual machine 'Windows 10' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: MachineWrap
Interface: IMachine {85632c68-b5bb-4316-a900-5eb28d3413df}

I never got this error on a windows 10 host, so it must be something with my host OS?
Thank you

I web-searched this:

"Linux Hosts" NS_ERROR_FAILURE "exit code 1" site:forums.virtualbox.org

I found a lot of posts, some saying the Virtualbox program installation on the host had been damaged. Some said the /usr folder had switched ownership from root.

Web-search some of these and try them. Please let us know what happened.

If you try reinstalling Virtualbox, please use official Virtualbox from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads, and remember the prerequisites https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02. ... nux-prereq
