I have a Fujitsu stand-alone scanner connected by USB.
It runs perfectly on a Wndows XP guest.
When I run up a Win-10 guest I can select the scanner in VBox' Device-USB menu but Win-10 doesn't find it.
In Devices->USB it shows up as:
Fujitsu, Ltd (0100)
If that is any help.

Re: Win -10 Guest cannot find USB device
Carefully go through USB basics and troubleshooting. If you finish all the steps 1-7 and cannot get your USB device into the guest OS, carefully post the outputs of the commands in step 8 as text in
Code: Select all
tags, not screenshots. Zip and post the logs step 8 call for, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
Re: Win -10 Guest cannot find USB device
I should have added that the scanner is part of an MFC.
The latter works happily on all three platforms.
Might the wrong driver be the cause of the problem?
If so I am probably searching in the wrong place.

Re: Win -10 Guest cannot find USB device
The VM's OS would need appropriate drivers. In addition, per the linked tutorial, USB devices are not shareable. So if the XP VM has it the Windows 10 VM can't use it.
Without the troubleshooting info reuested in the tutorial, no solid help can be given. However, if the whole MFC shows as one device, it would not be splittable to be used with separate VMs. You would have to take the whole MFC. If you did this successfully in XP, the same process ahould work in the 10 VM, provided the host or XP does not still have it.
