Hi,
I need to use a piece of windows software (ALG standalone plugin to ARTMO toolbox).
I run Ubuntu 18.04, I have Virtualbox 6.0.24 r139119 (Qt5.9.5), with a free Windows 10 virtual machine.
The thing is that ALG uses a library (libradtran) which runs on linux. So ALG uses "Ubuntu for Linux" based on Windows Linux Subsystem to run that library. I am having some trouble with that. I wonder if it's possible...
I followed the steps (at microsoft web page) to enable WSL, and it gives no error message. But when I try to run Ubuntu for Linux, the app gives this error message:
Error: 0x80370102 The virtual machine could not be started because a required feature is not installed.
Additionally, after trying to update to WSL2 (to see if that was the problem), I tried the command "wsl --list --verbose" to see if Ubuntu was assigned to WSL1 or WSL2, and it says:
Windows Subsystem for Linux has no installed distributions.
Distributions can be installed by visiting the Microsoft Store
(which is strange, at least..)
I played around with acceleration features of Virtualbox configuration, with no success at the moment.
Does anyone has any clues? Is it feasible?
Best,
Julian
PS: No, there is not a Linux version of ALG, at least not at the moment...
