Good morning,
I have multiple Linux and Solaris guests, and I am looking for a smarter way to share my user home directory between the guests in a NFS mounted home directory style.
Currently, I manually copy the home directory content from one guest to the other through a shared folder, but for things like SSH keys, I have been unable to set the ownership and permissions correctly due to how vboxsf works.
Is there a way, without always running a NFS server VBox, to share a home directory between guests ?
Thanks,
René

Re: NFS home directory used by multiple guests
Virtualbox Shared Folders, set up through the VM's settings and requiring Guest Additions inside the VM, are only for manual file copying, not for setting permissions and other stuff a real shared folder provided by the host or VM OS can do.rf28723 wrote:I have been unable to set the ownership and permissions correctly due to how vboxsf works.
Try using a real shared folder, set up using the OS's methods, and shared over the network.
