Hi all,
I'm prepared installing a Linux server on VM. I'm now searching a solution to attach the static IP to the VM so that the server can be browsed on Internet.
Say for example;
Public static IP of PC - 111.222.333.444
Internal IP of VM allotted by router - 192.168.555.666
Can any folk shed me some light?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
How to attach public static IP to VM ?

Re: How to attach public static IP to VM ?
If the VM is connected through Virtualbox Bridged, then it sits on the LAN just like any other computer on the LAN, and looks to the router like one of all of the computers on the LAN. There would not be anything special to do in Virtualbox.
Pretend your VM is a separate physical computer. Figure out the procedure to assign a static public IP address to a physical PC on your LAN behind your router, then do the same process to the OS inside the VM.
