Guest does not run after upgrade from openSUSE Leap 15.1 to 15.2
VirtualBox was o.k. in openSUSE Leap 15.1 (used it every day). After upgrading the Linux host to 15.2 I can start the Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager but when I try to start the guest system win7-64 it stops with the message

Found the solution during reading other posts: First discard the guest, then start it again.

For future readers, I'm sure t520v means to discard the guest saved state. Discarding the guest would of course leave you without a guest.
And yes, when you get a clear error code such as "VERR_SSM_LOAD_CONFIG_MISMATCH", then putting that into Google along with "site:forums.virtualbox.org" should very quickly uncover a solution.

I'm about to perform the upgrade from v. 15.1 to v. 15.2. Because I ran into problems with a prior upgrade, losing the entire installation of the openSuSE OS and virtualbox, I am curious about your favorable experience.
Did you perform the upgrade in place, i.e., not a clean install? If you performed an upgrade in place, did you do this online or offline? Any other details would be greatly appreciated. E.g., zypper, YaST tools.
What file system does your openSuSE installation use - ext4 or btrfs?

Re: Guest does not run after upgrade from openSUSE Leap 15.1 to 15.2
Hi w2tq,
I always burn a dvd with the new version. First I installed 15.2 as an upgrade to 15.1. The problems I had hereafter were asked, discussed, and resolved in
https://linux-club.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=123326 (in German language). Because I feared the upgrade could contain errors I did a new install (making sure that /home was not affected) but the new install did not resolve any problems. When - in the end - I felt that my remaining problem was not a Linux issue but a VirtualBox issue I went to forums.virtualbox.org (which you read here).
My installation uses ntfs (there is also Windows on board), btrfs, and xfs but no ext4. Do not ask me why because I know very few about file systems.
