After my "new installation with old home partition" (Linux Mint 20.3->LM 21), I have problems with Virtualbox and my VM (Windows 7) in it.
Background:
Since I have no problems with the VM (Android.vdi) (this VM does not need the Extensions-Pack - responsible for USB and Com-Port pass-through) and the new installation of Linux Mint has deleted all the old system directories, I see the problem in here.
Because:
When running the Win7 VM for the first time, Virtualbox complained that the expansion pack for peripheral support was missing and did not start Windows. I then reinstalled it and got another error about access rights to a folder that didn't exist. In the log it was described in more detail and it was recognised that the serial interface could not be integrated.
Ergo, I deactivated it (I don't need it anyway - but it was originally available with the old system LM 20.3).
Now, the VM Win7 was starting again.
However - although activated in the options of the VM - the USB input (of course directly connected to the computer) is also dead. Since I did not change anything else in the options (except for the now deactivation of the com port), I can therefore rule out a configuration error.
How to proceed:
Here I need your help. Should I uninstall Virtualbox and then reinstall it?

Re: Trouble with the Extension-Pack
My mistake: Upgrading from LM 20.3 -> 21 deleted all the old system files. Also the file /etc/group.
So all I had to do was register in vboxusers and USB worked again.

Re: Trouble with the Extension-Pack
Everything looks reasonably ok in the log.
Did you add your user to the "vboxusers" group on the host? This is necessary for USB redirection to work.
You still define a number of shared folders, so I assume that the shared folders errors indicate that not all of these exist:
