The 6.1.x test build for EL8 is missing

Post by jsible »

The Testbuilds wiki page https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds currently says that the latest 6.1.x test build for EL8 is revision 150738, but the link to that gives me a not found error when I click on it. What's the actual latest 6.1.x test build for EL8, and where can I download it?

It look like the devs are updating the build links. EL6 is missing too, as are all the development snapshots. You may just have to wait a little while for the build number to change.

The devs delete the older test builds, so once they're gone, they're really gone. I always keep the installer when I try a Test Build.

I wouldn't hold my breath. ;) AFAIR, when the test builds with revision 151427 were published ~1.5 weeks ago, the previous EL6 and EL8 builds simply stayed there.

Regarding test builds and development snapshots being no longer available, they're automatically deleted after a few weeks. So when the developers are too busy to create new ones, the links simply don't work any more after some time.

FWIW, new VirtualBox test builds 6.1.35r151573 have been published (EL8 included ;)). They are supposed to support Linux kernel 5.18 on the host and in the guest.
