Youtube ok SDR not ok
Youtube ok SDR not ok
Hello,
First of all, thanks to Oracle.
My VB on Linux Mint (20.03) Works very smooths. Have almost no issue with guest Windows 10 64 bit.
The only case is a sound problem.
Very simply and short, sound is very good on web applications, Youtube.
If I'm running a windows SDR software, the sound is "cracky".
Any SDR software. But movies, youtube, any other audio, fine.
Anş suggestions?

Still in the dark. Web-searching SDR, first result = Special Drawing Rights?
This isn't Twitter, you are allowed to expound a little more.
Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Re: Youtube ok SDR not ok
FWIW, SDR is meant to be Software-defined radio. Usually a hardware device is involved, often connected via USB.
Re: Youtube ok SDR not ok
Funny
Here most people know what is SDR rathar than special drawing thing of the IMF (international monetary fund etc)
The logs are too big files. Deleted them before making another test.
Here is the sample inside Linux Mint hosted Windows 10 64 bit SDRpp audio:http://www.amatortelsiz.com/media/VB_audio_SDR.wav
And here is the sample of Youtube audio as above http://www.amatortelsiz.com/media/VB_audio_youtube.wav
I will also check the log file, so far nothing privacy related issue...
From my view, the settings are same, not changed when listening to youtube or SDR, there is something maybe related to the sample rate or audio stream..
Funny also, that we are not here in Twitter

Re: Youtube ok SDR not ok
I knew what SDR was, and I would expect it to have problems in a VM, being hardware related and likely to be timing sensitive. Hence my lack of prior response which if posted would just be "well, duh".
Re: Youtube ok SDR not ok
I like it when we are not always toooo serious.
Since the sound is coming from the same source (VB) but reflected differently, it must be SDR related. Maybe the data is too much, sampling rate? I will try around.
Thanks a lot

Re: Youtube ok SDR not ok
Thanks for the log, though you missed a tidbit in the instructions:
There are two USB devices attached to the VM:
And since you still haven't defined 'SDR', and I don't want to assume, but you did post two audio files, the Youtube one smooth and the 'SDR' one scratchy, I will go with fth0's definition, surmise that the problem lies in an audio device, probably a radio receiver, being passed into the VM through USB.
Try USB 3, in the VM's USB settings, while the VM is fully shut down. Virtualbox USB 3 is supposed to be a better implementation than USB 2, even for USB 2 devices. USB basics and troubleshooting
The log is incomplete.scottgus1 wrote:shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

And USB 2 is being used:00:00:01.364194 VUSB: Attached '00007f8b8078c8c0[proxy 0bda:2838]' to port 1 on RootHub#0 (HighSpeed)
01:06:56.277693 VUSB: Attached '00007f8b804330d0[proxy ffff:5678]' to port 2 on RootHub#0 (HighSpeed)
00:00:01.021883 [/Devices/usb-ohci/] (level 2)
00:00:01.021862 [/Devices/usb-ehci/] (level 2)
Well, I don't. That's why I asked. If I used a term and someone asked what it meant, I wouldn't Twitterize the definition, snark them for not finding the correct Google search, and then say, "well, the people around me know, so..."eyilmaz wrote:Here most people know what is SDR

SOLVED:Youtube ok SDR not ok
Congratulations
I tried around many things, my Linux crashed (my fault etc).
!! always have your backup (mine was running and actual)
The sound problem on Linux hosting Windows 10 64 bit guest produced good quality with Youtube songs, but very bad with all sdr (software defined radio) apps like SDR++, SDRuno, SDRSharp..
There was no helping solution around. Except:
Switching USB 3 support on Oracle VM (xHCI) controller.
I have now very clear sound on my hosting Oracle VM on Linux Mint, Windows 10 64 bit.
Thanks a lot .
