Fedora29 - Failed create NetworkAdapter

Post by shkval »

Hello

I've fresh install of Fedora 29, I tried to install VirtualBox (Either from the .rpm package from the official website and the version 5 from the Repo).
In both cases I'm unable to create a VirtualNetwork Adapter.

Steps to reproduce the issue:
  • File / Host Network Manager / Create
  • After press the create I get the following error:

    Code: Select all

Failed to create a host network interface.

VBoxNetAdpCtl: Error while adding new interface: failed to open /dev/vboxnetctl: No such file or directory.

    Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
    Component: HostNetworkInterfaceWrap
    Interface: IHostNetworkInterface {455f8c45-44a0-a470-ba20-27890b96dba9}
Details:
  • VirtualBox Version 6.0.2 r128162 (Qt5.6.1)
  • Kernel 4.19.14-300.fc29.x86_64
I've tried few steps like importing modprobe but the folder is not present

Any help would be apreciated :)
Thanks in advance

I think so, I've tried using the .rpm from the webpage and also adding the repo to Fedora, trying to uninstall & reinstall but in any case did work
