Virtual Box Freeze my PC

ok PC Froze with VirtualBox 5.1

next step, downgrade the kernel as several people seem to be experiencing my problem since new kernels above .26 were released to fix Spectre problems

My PC never freeze and just did again when opening Ubuntu 18.04 VM on my UBuntu 17.10 host

i7 computer with 8 gig of ram... I have allocated 2 gig and 2 processor to the VM ( I have 4 processor)

for what it is worth, i had the issue and it was freezing my whole ubuntu machine. two screw ups 1) I set up the vm under sudo 2) and what really did it - didn't chmod mount folder for virtual drive. So after setting up a new vm, not sudo'd, and chmod -R +777 /mnt/mac, bam fired right up.
