When trying to launch the video capture, my VM Crash.
Host Ubuntu 17.10
VirtualBox 5.2.8 r121009
VM : Linux Mint last version 18.3 CRASH when starting it the Video Capture
VM: WIndows 10 : gives erreur when trying to do a video capture but do not crash

you mean rolling back to the 5.1.x solved your problem.
That means the issue still remains in the 5.2.x version.
Just asking because I have the same issue in 5.2.8 r121009

Sorry it's not working anymore ( I reinstall my PC)
I am not crashing but :
I start video capture
Video recording spins
I click Video Capture again to stop
Some file show up fast in my directory where I choosed to save the webm file and dissapear
