Guru Meditation with VT-x is not available - windows 10

Post by GeminiC »

Hi, I am trying to host a centos/7 on my windows 10 enterprise machine, but it failed to start the VM with logs attached.

I have done some research and followed all of them but still no luck, below are what I did.

1. Enable CPU virtualization in bios
2. remove Hyper-V from windows feature (also make sure docker, virtual machine platform, windows hypervisor platform are not selected
3. bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off
4. shutdown -s -t 2
5. unplug cable for 20s

The only thing I wasn't able to do is turn off windows defender since it's managed by admin, but I made sure 'Core Isolation' is disabled.

Please help me. Thank you!

Hyper-V is still being used. I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests, 2nd post, points 2 & 3 has one or two other things besides Core Isolation to check.

If you're doing these things on a work computer, get your boss on your side by selling to them why you need Virtualbox on your workstation. Then they'll get IT to clear up the needed settings.
