The 'log message error' thingy is normal, it happens on my working Linux guests all the time.
Guest Additions Shared Clipboard requires a GUI in the Linux guest, if I remember correctly.

Well, it requires the conceptual equivalent of a clipboard inside the guest, which AFAIK is only ever implemented in GUIs.
