Using Bluetooth within Host/Guest Causes Bluetooth Crash

Post by RobertJ234 »

VirtualBox Version: Version 6.0.10 r132072 (Qt5.6.2)

I have a Windows 7 host running a Windows 7 guest. I use a bluetooth headset connected to the host, which, at least for a short time, also works within the guest. That is, if I play some audio from a host application, I can hear it within the bluetooth headset. Similarly, if I play some audio from a guest application, I can hear it within the headset.

The problem, however, is that this works only for a short time, after which the bluetooth headset stops working, both for the host and the guest. Trying to reconnect the headset is useless and apparently impossible at this point as the bluetooth feature becomes messed up and unstable. The only way to reconnect the headset is to reboot the entire computer.

Is this a known issue? Any fixes or workarounds?

Thank you.

We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
  • Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe or recreate the problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
  • With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
  • Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response.
I would also like to see the "recipe" of the VM, the ".vbox" file: right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager, select "Show in Explorer". ZIP the selected ".vbox" file and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
