[Solved] No bootable medium found!

Hello,
I'm trying to install Ubuntu on a Windows 10 machine.
When I click 'start' , I can see VB 6.0 starting, but then I get error "No bootable medium found! System halted"

the controller IDE points to the file VBoxGuestAdditions.iso

Please find attached the zipped log file (start > power off> extract VB log)

I found that error being referenced before in the forum, but could not find anything that could help me here.

If I;m reading this right, it appears you don't have the Ubuntu ISO in the guest's CD drive. Take a shot at loading that ISO again.

um.. I'm afraid you'll have to educate me a bit. :?
I guess this .iso file came in that folder (C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\) when I installed the program from the ubuntu website. There is no CD, of course, and the CD Drive is virtual.
I translate your sentence " you don't have the Ubuntu ISO in the guest's CD drive" as: "the .iso file is not in the right place.
How do I load the .iso file again, and how is it going to go to the right place?
Thanks.

Sure, glad to help.

Open the guest Settings page, click on the guest's Optical Drive. In the pop-up menu, click "Choose Disk Image..."

Browse to the Ubuntu installation ISO and select it.

Now start the guest.

Hi scottgus1.
Thank you very much for your help.
It took me a while to understanding you. With retrospect, it's very silly; it's just a problem of which word to emphasis in your written sentence.
When you wrote "it appears you don't have the Ubuntu ISO in the guest's CD drive", I focused on "in the guest's CD drive" i.e. I have the .iso file in the wrong place. Whereas I should have read with emphasis on "the Ubuntu ISO" meaning I do not have the right ISO file...
I am not sure why, but I indeed did not have the ubunto .iso file. I searched for a .iso file; the only one I found was that "VBoxGuestAdditions.iso", so I though that's the one I should point to. Once I got the "ubuntu-18.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso" instead (as you suggested), that resolved it.

Yes, you'll certainly have difficulty installing Ubuntu on any PC using only a VirtualBox Guest Additions CD! :)

Thanks for reporting back, and for being honest!
