Hello,
I have a peculiar problem with VirtualBox. When I'm trying to create a new VM, after the step where you create a new disk, it fails with error code E_FAIL (0x80004005). Literally that, nothing more.
Followed the guide on cleaning up that's going around forums (account too young to post link to it), reinstalled VBox many times, and no dice. Cannot create any virtual machine at all.
E_FAIL on creating a new machine on 6.0.10 on Win 7

Re: E_FAIL on creating a new machine on 6.0.10 on Win 7
For the benefit of others, we started troubleshooting this over at IRC. Things tried:
Maybe you should attach the error dialog picture, it's empty, even when extended. Attach the image locally in your response (see the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form). Not a lot of people will go to 3rd party sites. Plus, it's more convenient if the image goes along with the message...
- Going through the thorough uninstall, clean registry, no antivirus installed, installed VirtualBox with the right-click » Run As Administrator.

Re: E_FAIL on creating a new machine on 6.0.10 on Win 7
Fixed the problem.
Turns out, when I once ran VboxVMService utility I had to change DCOM permissions of VirtualBox application to "This user". After reverting them to "Launching user" in DCOMCNFG.EXE the problem went away.

OH WOW!
Here's where I found what I think is the value that you changed:
Run DCOMCNFG.EXE »
