VBOX 6.0.4 on Windows 10 with Windows 10 guest freezes

Post by gatemaster99 »

Hi,
I have VBOX 6.0.4 (Update from latest 5) installed on Windows 10 64bit.
I use a Windows 10 64bit guest with it.
After some hours, the guest freezes and vbox has to be killed in the task manager.

With vbox 5 I had no problems. The guest was running without any problems.

Please help.
Thank you

We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
  • Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
  • With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
  • Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.

So finally it happened again.
The VM was not working and I killed it in the task manager.
Here is the log file.

I don't see any input/output for your sound. This usually happens when you have a not-so-ordinary setup, such as an HDMI output. Is that the case?

I see you're doing a lot of manual resizing of the VM window. Don't. It's best if you set the resolution from within the guest, set it and forget it. Also 2150x1240 is rather big for a VM with a fake GPU, and no 2D/3D acceleration. See the advice before about the Display, and select a "standard" size resolution from within the guest.
