Cannot install Ubuntu 18.04 LTS in VBv6.0.4 r128413

Post by Gabemd10 »

Gents, people of the world, however can help.

I'd had to redo the computer, long story short, I'm trying to install Ubuntu 18.04LTS on Windows 10, under VB VBv6.0.4 r128413 And had been unable to do so. Gotten different results:
1) Image from Canonical (full server install): It displays the language selection, but I can't press on anything to move forward
2) Image from Canonical (live cd/dvd): Does not even start (boot) or display the main menu.

Current configuration for the machine:
-)Ram: 4GB
-)Video: 48Mb
-)Processors: 2 cores
-)Enable PAE/NX (selected)
-)Enable 3D Acceleration (selected)

Not sure what needs to be done, first time ever having issues installing a guest in VB.

Thanks a lot for the time to help on this matter.

Creating Linux guests under VirtualBox 6.0.x defaults to the new VMSVGA vGPU. This has a few known teething problems. For the time being I would switch back to the older VBoxVGA vGPU. You can probably also afford to wind the video RAM up to 128MB.

It appears that when you have reinstalled Windows 10 that you have left Hyper-V (or one of the things that uses it) enabled. Hopefully disabling it will sort you out.

My crystal ball is currently broken. If you want assistance you are going to have to give me all of the necessary information.
Please don't ask me to do your homework for you, I have more than enough of my own things to do.
