[Fixed] VB 6.0* Freeze of W7 client on W10 host (#18916)

Scott, this was the first tab on my to-check tab-list (currently at 64!), both replicating the issue, and filing a ticket if one is not available.

I spent several hours on this, trying to figure where/when/what triggers it. The simple case scenario provided (click repeatedly on the sound level widget) really helped, so thanks to everyone that narrowed down the whole thing to a reproducible test:

• Versions tested: 5.1.26, 5.2.32, 6.0.0 ... 6.0.13 r133145 (and everything in between), and 6.0.97 r133025.
• Hosts tested: OSX 10.11.6, WIn10-64 1903 (18362.295), Linux Mint19.
• Guests tested: WinNT4 ... Win10, Linux Mint19, OSX 10.9.

Findings:

• The freezes are host-independent, all hosts are affected.
• The freezes happen with the SystemSounds. I could play videos just fine with the same setup, no problems.
• I couldn't get 5.1.26 to 6.0.2 to freeze. The freezes start happening after 6.0.4.
• The freezes happen even with 6.0.13 r133144, but not with the development 6.0.97 r133025.
• I couldn't get a SoundBlaster16 case to crash, only IntelHDA and AC97.
• I couldn't get a non-Windows guest to freeze, i.e. OSX and Mint19 were fine.

When the freeze happens the VM window won't even close, got to Force Quit it. VirtualBox Manager is also non-responsive, until the frozen VM is force-closed.

I searched for a ticket, couldn't find one. The only somewhat related one was: #17132: VRDP crashing guest machine, but I don't think it's the same issue. Therefore I'm filing a new one and setting the VirtualBox version to 6.0.4:

• #18916: VRDP enabled, clicking repeatedly on the sound level freezes WinVM/VirtualBox Manager

Seems to be fixed in 6.1.0 r135406. Can someone confirm?

Yes, I couldn't get it to crash on multiple scenarios with VirtualBox 6.1.0. And mind you, I still had the old Guest Additions installed. So this must have been an issue on the Host side.
