[WorksForMe] VirtualBox 6.0 for 32 Bit OS guests?

Post by jmar83_the2nd »

Code: Select all

"Please also use version 5.2 if you still need support for 32-bit hosts, as this has been discontinued in 6.0."
-> https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Not really, my Windows Server 2003 32 But works well with VirtualBox 6.0 (on a Win10 Pro x64 Host)

Why they write it there? Don't understand...!?

The message said that they are unsupported, not the they do not work. There is a big difference.

The difference is that, if you have problems, you cannot rely on VirtualBox to help you solve the problem. This is just the same as Microsoft discontinuing support on a particular OS. Support for Windows XP was discontinued in April 2104 and some early versions of Windows 10 have already reached the end of support. They still work.

You are using a 64bit host with a 32bit guest. It is 32bit host support that has been discontinued.

My crystal ball is currently broken. If you want assistance you are going to have to give me all of the necessary information.
Please don't ask me to do your homework for you, I have more than enough of my own things to do.

Einfach im Betreff-Feld ein "[Solved]" vor dem Titel einfügen. ;)

This is not a [Solved], this is not a [Resolved]. This is a [WorksForMe].

In fact it's the very definition of [WorksForMe], since it actually worked for the OP that asked the question in the first place! :D
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
