Hi All,
HP ProBook 4530s, 8GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Windows 10 Pro 64 bit edition.
Virtualisation is ON in the BIOS.
HYPER-V is off under WINDOWS FEATURES.
Yet ACCELERATION is ghosted in the settings of the virtual machine.
Are there any know issues or conflicts with regard to VT-x that I can check on please?
I'm scratching my head trying to get it to show again and I have not been able to show UEFI setting after clicking on ADVANCED in the startup menu screen either.
I have tried uninstalling VirtualBox and reinstalling it too.
Regards,
John

Re: VT-x problem HP ProBook 4530s.
You haven't actually reported an error message.
Please post a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click and "Show Log" in the GUI, save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip, and attach the zip here.
Related FAQ: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests.

Hi mpack,
I found the answer elsewhere after doing a search on the error.

To check the status of Hyper-v in Windows 10, <right click start> | Run | OptionalFeatures.exe, and look for the "Hyper-V" option. The box should be empty, not checked or shaded. If you want to be absolutely sure that Hyper-v is gone then open an administrator command console and type "bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off". Make sure to fully power down and reboot the host after changing the Hyper-v setting.
The bit that did it is underlined above.

Good, thanks for reporting back.

Yes I noticed that but I had, in the meantime, found the same answer on a different website.
Many thanks for all your help too.
