Internet access

Post by lyucs »

Hello to all,
I am running the Virtual Box on my Windows XP to guest Ubuntu 8.04.

I can't properly access the internet by cable in the VB, and I say properly because some sites do open, like msn.com, microsoft.com and hotmail.com. But that is weird because I can't log in to my e-mail account, and some sites don't open no matter what. And, most importantly, I can't update my Ubuntu and download plugins, because the update manager can't get to the site " http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/" in which the updates are stored.

What is making me confused is that it is partially functional. I have no idea how. If it wasn't working at all I'd understand :D

And the internet works perfectly when I'm using wireless. Update and all.

Can someone help me, please? I'm a real newbe, so please go easy with the explanation XD

Thank you
