After Server Shutdown Virtualbox is not accessible

Post by virtuellboxer »

Hello :-) we had today a Power failure, and the APC shutted down the server. Virtualbox was not shutted down, and now it results in a:
Runtime error opening 'C:\Users\Administrator\VirtualBox VMs\MY\MY.vbox' for reading: -102 (File not found.).
D:\tinderbox\win-4.2\src\VBox\Main\src-server\MachineImpl.cpp[725] (long __cdecl Machine::registeredInit(void)).
Fehlercode: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Komponente: Machine
Interface: IMachine {22781af3-1c96-4126-9edf-67a020e0e858}
Whats up here?
The folder above now contains a MY.vbox-tmp instead MY.vbox will rename help`?

It appears that the .vbox file which contains the virtual machine configuration information got deleted either as part of the power down or restart file system check.

If you copy the MY.vbox-tmp file to MY.vbox and then restart the guest all should be well.
