Virtual Box Hardening STRANGE ISSUE!
Virtual Box Hardening STRANGE ISSUE!
The virtual machine 'first' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1). More details may be available in 'C:\Users\joshua\VirtualBox VMs\first\Logs\VBoxHardening.log'.
Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
MachineWrap
Interface:
IMachine {85cd948e-a71f-4289-281e-0ca7ad48cd89}
This is my first time trying to install it. I clicked start and this is what happened. There is a Vbox hardening log.
I am trying to run windows 7 here.
Thanks!

Re: Virtual Box says ERROR in supR3HardendedWinReSpawn..
Did you look in the file that was suggested in the error message to see if it did indeed contain more details? If you don't understand its contents then you could always post it here (zipped of course).

I think we should try that again. Log files should be zipped and attached, not pasted.

Re: Virtual Box says ERROR in supR3HardendedWinReSpawn..
The above error is not normal. Either VirtualBox is not properly installed (i.e. for correct user, using "Run as administrator"), or antivirus is interfering - I see MalwareBytes mentioned in the log. See FAQ: Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues.VBoxHardening.log wrote: 2788.34d4: supR3HardenedVmProcessInit: Opening vboxdrv stub...

Re: Virtual Box says ERROR in supR3HardendedWinReSpawn..
Thanks. do you mean if i ran as administrator during installation on another user, that is not okay? Yeah I do have malwarebytes I think. bbl seeya

Yes, I do mean exactly that, among other variations on the theme.HeadAche1 wrote:do you mean if i ran as administrator during installation on another user, that is not okay?
Re: Virtual Box says ERROR in supR3HardendedWinReSpawn..
Ah okay, I will try to do this on Admin on my Windows 10.
Re: Virtual Box Hardening STRANGE ISSUE!
It runs now. However now I get this error code:
VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.
So I installed Windows 7 32bit, it wouldn't allow me to install 64 bit. Does anyone know if I can make the resolution bigger? Right now the virtual box can only go 800x600 resolution.

Re: Virtual Box Hardening STRANGE ISSUE!
We can't diagnose a VT-x/AMD-v issue without a VM log, not the same as the hardening log. With the VM fully shut down, right click it in the GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Re: Virtual Box Hardening STRANGE ISSUE!
The good news is that your CPU does support AMD-v. The bad news is that something else is already using it, or it is disabled in the host BIOS. Either way VirtualBox is prevented from using it, and it's needed more all 64bit VMs. See a related FAQ: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests.VBox.log wrote: 00:00:01.499599 HM: HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS)
